The Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket division will be represented for the first time under the new name of Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions (VLS) at AAPEX 2024, hosted at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 5-7.

Schaeffler recently announced the completion of its merger with Vitesco Technologies, and AAPEX will mark the first automotive aftermarket industry event for the new organization; combining the innovative power and operational strength of both companies. Schaeffler will demonstrate its comprehensive range of repair and service solutions for combustion engines, hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles, all under the motto “Sustaining Motion. Pioneering Future.”

Sustaining motion
Schaeffler’s Vehicle Lifetime Solutions division sustains motion by supplying components and comprehensive repair solutions for passenger cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles and tractors. With a comprehensive understanding of the mobility ecosystem and extensive service offerings, the company also supports workshops on complex repair topics.

Aftermarket in transition
The transformation of the aftermarket industry is reflected in Schaeffler’s new  division name, Vehicle Lifetime Solutions. This name emphasizes the company’s focus on creating value at various points in the mobility ecosystem – from the availability, competitiveness, and sustainability of service solutions across all powertrains, to new digital technologies and business models.

“With our recent merger with Vitesco Technologies, Schaeffler is poised to launch more groundbreaking products that encompass a diverse spectrum of technologies, from internal combustion engines to battery electric vehicles. Our blended portfolio ensures that we can meet and exceed the demands of our customers, always providing them with reliable and efficient solutions tailored to their needs,” said Eric Steinbecher, president Vehicle Lifetime Solutions Americas.

The Schaeffler booth will showcase repair and spare part solutions across three areas comprising products, services and future technologies, all demonstrating how Schaeffler is supporting customers on their journey through the changing mobility ecosystem.

Pioneering the future with new products
Schaeffler continues to expand its LuK TorCon torque converter product line to cover a range of applications for passenger cars and pickup trucks. This is the only all-new, never remanufactured torque converter available in the automotive aftermarket, and is built on Schaeffler’s extensive expertise as a tier one supplier in the industry.

As a result of the merger with Vitesco Technologies, the company will introduce its expanded product portfolio over time in three categories: e-water pumps, transmission control units and modules, and Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) sensors. Schaeffler will showcase the new NOx sensors at AAPEX, which help meet critical emission standards and promote efficient and clean engine performance – a vital pillar of the company’s commitment to sustainability.

Transmission, engine and chassis solutions
Schaeffler will present innovations for the next generation of transmission technologies, including the company’s award-winning Modular Hybrid Transmission (MHT) unit for original equipment applications, as the industry shifts toward hybrids and battery electric vehicles.

On the engine side, Schaeffler will present its valvetrain technologies along with an expanded portfolio of timing kits, front-end auxiliary drive kits and thermal management modules.

The manufacturer will also present advanced chassis mechatronics, featuring fully integrated components that improve performance and modularity. Solutions include the company’s Rear Wheel Steer and Force Feedback Actuator.

Driving simulator
Alongside today and tomorrow’s engine, chassis and transmission solutions, Schaeffler will present its newly developed interactive driving simulator. Visitors will be able to experience first-hand how Schaeffler’s Force Feedback Actuator, a steer-by-wire solution, adapts to driving styles and preferences, ensuring a personalized and pleasurable driving experience by providing real-time feedback of happening between the tire and the road. This future-ready technology supports the development of advanced safety and control systems.

Onsite REPXPERT training
Schaeffler’s REPXPERT online platform is an essential resource for mechanics seeking information on products, repairs and maintenance. Schaeffler will host training sessions on timing chain installation and troubleshooting for the GM high-feature 3.6L V6 engine. These sessions will take place at the Schaeffler booth and will also be available on-demand during and after the show on the REPXPERT platform. The training will cover basic teardown and installation with step-by-step instructions, as well as checking for proper timing and alignment.
