Word has reached us of the passing of Gregory Morton, CEO of Dominion Sure Seal/Rust Check companies.
He was a longstanding, dedicated member of Canada’s collsion repair industry.
He passed away on January 12, 2025 at the age of 53.
Greg Morton worked with Dominion Sure Seal/Rust Check, a family business with international scope, for nearly 30 years, and took the reins as CEO following the passing of his father Ron Morton in 2011, himself an icon within the industry.
Greg proved to be a dedicated member of the aftermarket industry and relished being able to continue building the company alongside brother Derek, but was also noted in recent years for his openess about his personal struggles with mental health and substance abuse and a renewed, strong dedication to his faith in God.
In October 2024, as Canadian Thankgiving approached, he posted this message to LinkedIn.
“It feels good to feel good again. No more chaos, no more hurting others and myself, no more self loathing. I’m at peace with myself and ready for the next chapter of my life. I have about 150 chapters. Lots of ups and downs but everytime I get back up I feel stronger. I’m like a slingshot. I go a little back and shoot a little forward. I go further back and I shoot farther. I go even farther back and I go even farther. Hopefully I’m done pulling back and will move forward for eternity.”
Family and friends can send flowers and/or light a candle as a loving gesture. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on the memorial page to show support.
He was predeceased by: his father Ronald Morton; and his sister Cara. He is survived by: his mother Anna Morton; his sons, Calen and Ryan; and his brother Derek.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Turner & Porter – Peel Chapel (2180 Hurontario St, Mississauga, ON L5B1M8). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
