Canadians have stepped up in many significant ways to help during the war in Ukraine and the resulting humanitarian crisis.

Canada is home to one of the largest populations of Ukraine origin. More than an estimated 1.3 million persons of full or partial Ukrainian origin reside in Canada (the majority being Canadian-born citizens), making them Canada’s eleventh largest ethnic group and giving Canada the world’s third-largest Ukrainian population behind Ukraine itself and Russia.

So for many, the war is about family.

Canadians have already hit the initial $10 million matching target set by the Government of Canada and that program has been extended.

The extended Government of Canada match target of $30 million was been met as of March 4, 2022. but much needs to be done.
