Brake Manufacturers Council appoints new chair

MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers has announced the appointment of Brendan Morris as the new Chair of the Brake Manufacturers Council.

Morris, currently the Vice President of Sales at GRI Engineering, a MAT Holdings company, will succeed John Bennett, Managing Director at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Detroit, Inc.

Morris brings over two decades of experience in the automotive and aftermarket braking sectors. His leadership is expected to steer the BMC through critical developments in industry standards, regulatory challenges, and technological advancements.

“We are currently facing an unprecedented period in the history of aftermarket braking,” said Morris. “The importance of BMC is now more apparent than ever. It serves as a platform where industry professionals can collaborate to share insights about market challenges and unite to address regulations. This enables us to navigate the obstacles affecting our business and products, ultimately delivering superior outcomes.”

MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers and BMC also extend their deepest gratitude to Bennett for his leadership and contributions during his tenure. Under his guidance, the BMC has made significant strides in enhancing the collaborative efforts among brake manufacturers and addressing pivotal industry issues.

Morris’s appointment is effective immediately, and he will preside over his first BMC meeting this coming November during AAPEX. The council looks forward to his leadership during a time of many opportunities and challenges in the automotive aftermarket sector.
