Automechanika Innovation Awards were presented at a festive awards ceremony at Automechanika Frankfurt, one of the largest aftermarket events in the world.
In addition to the eight awards, which included categories such as Electromobility & Innovative Drive Technologies, Workshop & Service Solutions, Parts & Innovative Technologies and Data & Connectivity, a Green Award was also presented for a particularly sustainable product.
The winners of the Innovation Awards were selected from a total of 153 applicants.
The products and solutions were assessed by a jury of 17 international experts. Criteria such as innovative content, economic efficiency, user-friendliness, functionality, aftermarket relevance, safety and quality as well as the contribution to environmental protection and sustainability were decisive for the decision.
‘More than almost any other sector, the automotive industry is at the beginning of a comprehensive transformation. We need new technologies to help us – on the way to digital, efficient and sustainable mobility,’ said Michael Johannes, Vice President Messe Frankfurt for Mobility & Logistics and Brand Manager Automechanika, at the awards ceremony.
‘You can see the innovative strength that the automotive industry brings to the table at Automechanika these days. Around 4,200 exhibitors from 80 countries are showcasing their innovations here, many of which are world premieres!’
The award-winning products focus on future-oriented trend topics such as digitalisation, new drive technologies and sustainability. The use of AI is also becoming increasingly important. Smart solutions for vehicle technology as well as for workshops were honoured:
These included a mechanical separating device that can be used to dismantle and repair electric motors despite extreme magnetic forces, 3D camera measurement technology that enables and monitors the precise placement of ADAS calibration mats, AI-supported training software with language customisation and a dry ice cleaner with fully integrated dry ice production.
The jury once again presented a Green Award as a special prize for the most ecologically sustainable innovation among all the entries.
This year, the company Sampa Otomotiv A.S. from Turkey received it for its new development ‘Sampa Braking Emission Storing Technology (B.E.S.T.)’, an innovative brake caliper system with particle filtration and cooling. This innovation also emerged as the winner in the Commercial Vehicles category.
Innovation Award Winners
E-Mobility & Innovative Drive Technologies
AVILOO GmbH
AVILOO FLASH Test
The AVILOO FLASH Test is a plug & play style battery test that checks the functionality of EV drive batteries (BEV and plug-in hybrids) in just three minutes on a stationary vehicle and presents it in an intuitive report including a score. This means that degradation and defects can be discovered quickly. This transparent, independent assessment of the condition of the traction battery promotes the acceptance of used electric vehicles and protects their residual values.
Data & Connectivity
WESP Automotive
WESP Total Market Calculator using the Fact-based Replacement Rate (FBRR)
The Fact-Based Replacement Rate (FBRR) is a groundbreaking innovation that has transformed the automotive aftermarket industry. By leveraging actual workshop invoices and incorporating machine learning technologies, the FBRR delivers accurate and reliable data on replacement part demand. This empowers businesses to make data-driven decisions, optimize their operations, and achieve sustainable growth.
Workshop & Service Solutions
Snap-on Equipment GmbH
Tru-Point 3D Positioning of ADAS Calibration Accessories
Using patented 3D camera measurement tech, TGT-05 enables precise placement of 360 mats around the vehicle. BKT-16 uses the same cameras to position rear radar fixtures within manufacturer tolerances. Targets are constantly monitored during the ADAS process to ensure repairs meet manufacturer specs.
Parts & Technology Solutions
Gedore Automotive GmbH in Entwicklungs-Kooperation mit
Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions
E-Drive Stator Lift
The E-Drive Stator Lift is a semi-automatic separation device for dismantling electric motors. Despite extreme magnetic forces, rotor and stator are separated without damage. As an alternative to replacement motors, costeffective spare parts can be installed and defective motors reintroduced into the usage cycle.
Body & Paint
PPG Deutschland Sales & Services GmbH
PPG LINQ™ Digital Ecosystem
The PPG LINQ™ ecosystem enhances bodyshop efficiency and sustainability by digitizing and automating repair tasks, including color reading and paint mixing. It reduces guesswork, rework, and waste, enabling quicker, more accurate color matching using digital tools instead of traditional methods. This cloud-based platform connects hardware, software, and services, making communication smoother and tasks easier and safer. It’s a digital hub that minimizes environmental impact..
Car Wash & Care
Alfred Kärcher Vertriebs-GmbH
Trockeneisreiniger IB 10/15 L2P Advanced
The dry ice cleaner IB 10/15 L2P Advanced is part of the world’s first dry ice cleaning system with completely integrated dry ice production. From the C02 gas bottle directly to dry ice pellets – perfect for spontaneous cleaning applications without costly and complex dry ice logistics. Connect compressed air, establish power supply (220V) – off you go! Efficient cleaning without water in sensitive areas has never been easier.
Commercial Vehicles
SAMPA OTOMOTIV A.S.
SAMPA Braking Emission Storing Technology (B.E.S.T.)
Collecting and filtering the pad dust particles released during braking in disc brake systems, mechanically, both actively and passively, without connecting to any engine and electronic parts of the vehicle, and extending the life of the brake caliper mechanism by cooling the elastomer parts with the output of the suction power obtained.
AI & Digitalisation
GS27
The evolution of training, powered by AI
The GS27 training department takes advantage of the AI softwares to develop and tailor training sessions for its customers, enabling to offer free personalized training sessions adapted to the needs and language of each one.
