AIA Canada Manitoba division's Sun Fund Charity Golf Tournament returned this year, raising funds for a worthy youth oriented cause

AIA Canada Manitoba division’s Sun Fund Charity Golf Tournament returned this year, raising funds for a worthy youth oriented cause.

The AIA Manitoba Division together with Child & Family Services Western Manitoba (CFSWM) hosted the 16th Annual Golf tournament.

The Sun Fund for Kids Westman is administered by CFSWM with 100% of the monies raised used to send children to various area camps.

The Sun Fund for Kids Westman was spearheaded by Brian Marshall with the Brandon Sun and CFS Western Manitoba in 1988.

The event was held at Shilo Golf Course in Shilo Manitoba and attended by 44 golfers and 45 Sun Fund Hole Sponsors, many of them whom have been supporters since the inaugural tournament in 2005.

A great day of golf was had by all who once again enjoyed a challenging course under sunny skies.

At the close of the tournament dinner AIA Manitoba presented a cheque for $5900.00 to CFS Western Manitoba CEO Arlene Stewart and in addition presented Arlene with a cheque for $1500.00 on behalf of AIA High Five for Kids Foundation bringing the 2022 tournament donation to $7400.00 and the 16 year total over $115,000.00.

Thanks to tournament organizers Pete Lepage, Auto Parts Central Brandon, Art Asham, (CFSWM retired), Mark Gillis, CFSWM and Brent Karr, Bestbuy Distributors Ltd. for their work in putting on the event.

The 17th Sun Fund for Kids Golf Tournament will return June 8, 2023.
