AIA Canada is seeking member feedback on tariff measures imposed by Canada as a response to tariffs imposed by the United States.
The initial list of $30B worth of goods has been activated, but an additional list that will, when complete, include some $125B in goods is being preseted for comment.
“The latest notice pertains to the proposed implementation of a second round of tariffs, where the government is seeking feedback on an additional $125 billion in United States imports, says a notice from the association.
“The government is inviting input from businesses, stakeholders, and Canadians on the impacts of these proposed tariffs until March 25, 2025.
“It’s important to note that this proposed list covers over $200 billion in goods, with approximately $75 billion worth expected to be removed after the consultation process. AIA Canada is collecting feedback from members to identify key concerns in order to prepare a comprehensive final submission. We encourage you to review the list of goods here and enter any items of concern in the “filter items” box above Table 1,” says the association.
“Alternatively, if you know the tariff code for your item, you can input it directly into the filter box as well.”
The association is also asking members to fill out a membership survey.
