Aftermarket veteran Stewart Kahan passed away at home in Montreal, Que., on Friday April 24, 2020 after a battle with cancer. He was 63.

Kahan, described as “An artist with gasoline running through his veins,” was president of Powerplay, which focused on designing and manufacturing pressure washers for the automotive community and other markets.

In the past, he was owner of Satisfied Brake Products which was a significant player in the aftermarket through the 1990s and early 2000s.

Kahan was an involved contributor to charitable causes and was particularly dedicated to the “Drive for Smiles” event for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada.

Starlight, through “Drive 4 Smiles,” works to create new and lasting positive memories, bringing joy and hope to seriously ill children and their families through the love of cars.

“Thank you Stewart Kahan for everything you have done, and continue to do for Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada,” posted the cause on social media last June.

Kahan is survived by Debbie, spouse and best friend for thirty-seven years. Loving and devoted father and father-in-law of Joshua, Shawn and Brittany, Jaclyn and Bryan. Proud and adoring “Zai” of Jaxon, Hudson and Logan.

Exceptional son of Estelle and the late Laz Kahan(sky) and son-in-law of Rhoda and the late Brian Cherry. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Robert and Shari, Jeffrey and Darci. Special uncle of Samantha, Zachary and Alex. Stewart will be greatly missed by cousins and friends.
