The 2022 AIA High Fives for Kids Foundation Chairman’s Challenge has topped $25,000, with more commitments poised to grow this even more.

The latest donations from Piston Ring Service, CANUSA Automotive Warehousing and Groupe Del Vasto have joined others received in June from Standard Motor Products, APD Automotive Parts Distributors, Modern Sales Co-op, National Sales Inc., Magnacharge Battery Corporation, Tenneco Inc., Dave Desmarais, Terry O’Brien, Robert O’Brien, and Charlie Grant.

All adding to the growing list of nearly 30 aftermarket organizations and professionals to date.

And the High Fives for Kids Foundation has already started giving back, with it’s contribution to the recent AIA Manitoba Sun Fund Charity Golf Tournament. Child and Family Services Western Manitoba was presented Arlene a cheque for $1500.00 on behalf of AIA High Five for Kids Foundation; 100% of the monies raised used to send children to various area camps.

In 2021, the Chairman’s Challenge raised some $30,000 for children and youth charities across Canada and it is that success which has led to its return even as some of the traditional fundraising activities also return.

“Golf tournaments and special events have been our long-standing major fundraising stream,” says Proulx. “However, due to the success of the Chairman’s Challenge last year, we are excited to announce that we have launched the 2022 Chairman’s Challenge and invite you all to participate.”

In addition, added emphasis has been placed on finding Canadian charities supporting the children and youth affected by the Ukraine war. Work is currently underway to identify the specific organization to receive a financial contribution from the Foundation.

In 2021 the Chairman’s Challenge donated some $30,000 toward youth oriented causes including:

Quebec’s Camp Papillon which provides stimulating camp experiences for some 1,500 physically and intellectually challenged children in each year.

The Children’s Breakfast Club has been a perennial recipient of contributions from the aftermarket foundation. Established more than 30 years ago, the Breakfast Club works with community partners to provide breakfast programs in 27 communities across Southern Ontario.

The Redwood Shelter in Toronto, Ont., has, since 1993, we’ve been there to help women and children live free from domestic violence. The Redwood provides the emotional, practical and social support that families need to get their lives back on track – offering free and confidential services in 170 different languages.

The YWCA of Edmonton provides education, health and wellness programming to thousands of women, girls, and families every year.

Make-A-Wish Northern Alberta has been granting wishes to Canadian children for some 30 years. It’s newly expanded reach sees the organization granting wishes to children suffering serious neurological and genetic conditions.

Fondation Papillon/Camp Papillon which provides provides stimulating camp experiences in Quebec for some 1,500 physically and intellectually challenged children each year.

Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta which provides an advanced skill set, including critical thinking, effective teamwork and leadership that enable young people to grow, thrive and produce in many critical areas of their lives.

Anne Marie D’Amico Foundation and the North York Women’s Shelter which for 33 years has been a place of healing, empowerment and refuge, helping over 11,000 women and children heal from the trauma of abuse.
