Automotive Parts Associates (APA) has announced the acquisition of TruStar, Inc.
Established in 1987 in Pearland, Texas, TruStar is among the oldest automotive buying and marketing groups.
TruStar reports more than 250 independent automotive warehouse distributors located in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico. It operates a distribution centre in Pearland, Texas.
It concentrates on the undercar aftermarket service parts (brakes, shocks, chassis and exhaust) though its lines have expanded to includes belts and hoses, wiper blades and other categories outside of the undercar segment.
The addition of TruStar now brings the number of APA Warehouse Distributors to more than 100.
With John Amalfe and his Momentum family of brands and the TruStar co-man warehouse, this is a value driven deal for all.
“We like to think we can find a program to fit any potential member or shareholder,” says TruStar President and CEO Steve Upton.
“The combination of these companies and the new supplier programs that will be open to all members and shareholders will benefit everyone across the entire value chain,” said Steve Tucker, President of APA.
“Further, I am excited that Steve Upton and I will be working together through the transition to insure everything is moving smoothly as we integrate the businesses.”
