Harold Winberg set to retire

by | Jan 5, 2021 | 12 comments

After 33 years in the automotive aftermarket industry Harold Winberg is calling it a day and will be retiring in early 2021.

His start in this industry began with Master Wash selling parts washers and Vinoco Oil. He spent 11 years with Pennzoil, starting as their first rep in Canada. After moving up to senior positions there he made the move to Vancouver, B.C. and a role with NGK Spark Plugs of Canada.

Following time there he became a Managing Partner M&R Environmental, which the partners sold to GFL in 2015, Harold continued on there until making the decision to take on a role with Motul as Regional Sales Manager-Northwest.

As news of his decision reached us at Jobber Nation we asked Harold about his decision.

“I’ve had a wonderful career in a great industry but it’s time to step back, spend more time with my family and focus on my health.

“My announcement has proven to be far more bitter sweet than I had expected, like so many other things disrupted by the pandemic. It has also been challenging to give proper ‘good-byes’ to all those whom I have had the pleasure to work with and for. So, I really appreciate this opportunity.

“When I look back at these last 33 years there could be no better experience than to work in the automotive aftermarket with such outstanding companies, customers, mentors and people. I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent some great brands these last 33 years and to work with some fantastic people along the way. Many of whom I can call my closet friends” he concluded.

Nick Bagley VP of Sales at Motul adds, “He brought to Motul his steady guidance, experience and leadership to our organization. We accept his decision to retire with a heavy heart but with our full support, he will be missed at Motul tremendously.”

Karen, your interviews will go down in the record books! Seven years between the first one and second one! But it was so worth the wait. As soon as we can do lunch…I’m buying!

Congratulations on a great carrier Harold. I had the privilege to get to know you early in our carrier at Pennzoil and to this day I remember you as a smart, well reflected but above all, a fun person to be around. Enjoy your retirement.
