Lordco Parts Ltd., B.C.’s largest distributor and retailer of automotive parts and accessories, hosted its 28th Annual Tradeshow on at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, B.C., attracting more than16,000 customers and 400-plus exhibitors.
The trade show is regarded as among the largest, if not the largest, automotive aftermarket trade show in Canada.
Attendees filled the arena floor, concourse, and the entire PNE Agrodome to see some of Lordco’s many vendors showcasing products from 11 divisions including; Automotive, High Performance, Truck Accessories, RV/Marine/Outdoors, Import, Paint & Body, Tools, Equipment, Chemicals, Welding and Engine Parts.
Open to Lordco customers, this annual Tradeshow entertains the year’s best pricing for those who attend and gives a chance for suppliers to highlight products to their key audience.
The event was also an occasion for exhibitors and attendees to welcome newly appointed GM James Ward into his new role with Lordco. Ward has been with Lordco for many years but is embracing the new position.
Aside from show floor activities, news of the Tenneco purchase of Federal-Mogul generated much discussion among exhibitors and attendees. Both Tenneco and Federal-Mogul Motorparts are Lordco suppliers and the acquisition was announced while the show was taking place.
This year’s show had a variety of exciting giveaways including long-standing Canadian company Kleen-Flo who gave away multiple prizes. The lucky ballot was pulled at 9pm on the final day of the Tradeshow and Bob Newcombe from VSA Highway Maintenance won the grand prize: a Polaris Razor 900. In addition to Kleen-Flo, Armor All/STP gave away their grand prize of a Richard Petty signed Race Hood to PS Motors in Vancouver and Bosch drew Glen Elmgren of Alberta as the winner of a beautiful eBike.
Beyond the flow of giveaways, mini donuts, ice cream and hand shaking, Canadian racecar driver and this year’s Daytona 500 participant DJ Kennington stopped by the Castrol booth to visit with incoming race fans and autograph posters.
Each attendee was greeted at the front door with his race-ready 2018 Toyota Camry and gave fans, big and small, a chance to view the Gaunt Brothers Racing Team car in full Lordco colours.
There was also an appearance from former Canucks Dave Babych and Harold Snepsts who stopped by the Schaeffler booth to sign autographs for hockey fans.
