Blue Streak-Hygrade Motor Products, Standard Motor Products’ entity in Canada, has announced a set of appointments realigning Canadian sales operations on the retirement of Dave Desmarais, National Sales Manager.

Desmarais’ retirement became official March 31, 2025, was announced Ian Wheeler, Marketing Manager for the organization.

“Over his remarkable career span of 39 years, Dave has contributed significantly to our organization in various roles, including Zone Manager, Special Markets Manager, Regional Manager, and for the past 13 years, as National Sales Manager. His leadership, expertise, and dedication to the company have left an indelible impact, and we sincerely thank him for his guidance and years of service,” he wrote.

The promotion of Yves Denis to National Sales Manager, was also announced. Yves joined Blue Streak in 2016 as Zone Manager for Eastern Canada and has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, industry knowledge and business acumen.

Also announced was the promotion of Benoit Poissant to Zone Manager for Québec, and that Kevin Gorman, Zone Manager, Ontario, will extend his current responsibilities to now also include Atlantic Canada.
